During 30 years of participating in art and craft shows, I’ve had the opportunity to see artwork and handmade crafts from thousands of working artisans. This is a world I know well. In 2009 I decided to cut back on travel and open a small Gallery named Art From The Heart, continuing to make and sell beautiful jewelry, and also offer creative work made by other craftspeople or artists. Work is selected based on two important criteria –- an unusual interpretation of the natural world and/or an artisan’s passion to create joy.

I know, through my experience, that it is possible to offer affordable alternatives to foreign made products that have the added value of supporting American artisans. This is my goal in the Gallery where you can select from original jewelry, inspiring gifts, small décor or utility items, unusual pottery, fiber art, and much more that are handmade in the USA, most from North Carolina.  To see featured artists and gallery selections, click here for my blog.

Hours

Directions: Take I-40 to exit 64 (Black Mountain). Turn north onto Hwy. 9/Broadway St. Then left onto Sutton Ave. Turn right onto Cherry Street. Art From The Heart is one half block on the left.

Called "The Front Porch of Western North Carolina," the town of Black Mountain is nestled into one of the most scenic mountain ranges east of the Rockies, the Black Mountains. Click here to see my Black Mountain Commemorative Jewelry Design.  Located about ten minutes east of Asheville, NC, with immediate access to I-40, Black Mountain boasts a notable History Museum , a year round music house for live performances, an Arts Center, a preserved old fashioned downtown filled with interesting buildings and eclectic specialty stores including my Gallery, an extraordinary choice of excellent restaurants and cafes for a small town, walking trails to suit every level, the longest par 6 hole in the country, and a handful of historic B&Bs. Visitors often tell me that there is something that resonates spiritually for them in Black Mountain. Perhaps that is why the highest concentration of religious conference centers in the US and associated summer camps surround Black Mountain. Residents of note include the beloved Rev. Billy Graham. The first Tiger Woods US Golf Course is being constructed a short drive from Black Mountain and, of course, the Biltmore House is an easy 20 minute drive.
