Keishi Pearls are accidents of the pearl’s culturing
process. They form from oyster mantle that is attached to the mother of
pearl bead after it is inserted into the oyster. I think of it as a natural
bridge of nacre. They are always irregular in shape, usually white, silver,
or black; and relatively expensive for nice quality specimens. This necklace
features a beautiful quality single silver white keishi hanging below a
sweep of chain with freshwater pearls and pink cubic zirconia. I use a
specialty sterling chain to enhance the delicacy of the design and attach an
extension chain at the clasp, allowing a 16” to 18” length. Matching keishi
earrings are available upon request.
